The Tug of war in my head.
This is something a lot of healers don’t talk about. It’s what’s going on in our heads as we pray for the person who needs healing. Well let me tell you it’s always something different. Ok this is what happens to me most of the time. My mind always wants to back pedal. I know God wants to heal them and I know that I have all authority over sickness and disease. But this is always the struggle in us as believers we know Jesus told us to heal the sick. Matt 10:8 heal the sick, raise the dead, and cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
But for some reason the carnal mind always fights the things of God. Romans 8:7 because the carnal mind [is] enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
This is why I stress to renew your mind to the way God thinks. We need to keep in mind that our Carnal mind has been telling us what is real and what is not, basically running the show. We have to convince our carnal mind that everything it knows is a lie and that everything you are reading in the word of God is true. This is difficult at times because you are commanding bones to mend and the carnal mind is saying to itself. Wait a minute this is not possible I have not seen this happen before therefore it is against the carnal things and it’s not possible. OK let me break it down. Our bodies and minds have been telling us what to do since we were born correct? Let me explain, when you go to the fridge to grab something to eat do you go because you feel like it? No, you go because your body is telling you, you are hungry. When you sit down do you sit down because you feel like it? No, you sit down because your legs are telling you to. When you scratch your self do you do it because you feel like it? No, you do it because your body tells you to do it. My point is this; everything you do is motivated by your mind telling you what you need to do.
At times it does it as a habit. Like tying your shoe or grabbing a door knob. You train your brain to do these things and your brain after a while sees it as normal, it accepts it and does it. OK this is the struggle right here, How do we convince our minds that what God says is true and that the results are possible.
This is why Jesus said to teach the nations. He said teach! Teach them what Lord? Everything I have commanded you to do.
Jesus did not say, “Tell them what I commanded”. Jesus said, “Teach them to observe what I commanded”. Matt 28:18-20 this is huge! Guys we have been lying to ourselves and believing it. If we just talk about what God can do and not show it. It becomes a lie. Here is the proof. James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
This is the struggle in my mind I have been hearing it all my life but never taught it. Why is that? Because of fear of failure! Not everyone has this fear. I do not have this fear; I have failed all my life before I knew the Lord. I smoked crack I was homeless I was a dead beat dad I couldn’t hold a job I was the worst case scenario. I tell my Brothers in Christ the reason I don’t fail as much as I used to is. I became a master of failing.
I learned what not to do, you figure you can only mess up so much eventually you will learn how not to fail. I have Jesus in my Conner now; this is a whole new ball game now. Back to the issue at hand.
My mind when I’m laying hands on the sick starts back peddling, telling me I don’t think this is going to work? I tell my mind to shut up, I take that thought captive. 2 Cor 10:5 we demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. I tell my mind this is what you will line up to and you will do as you’re told and agree with me that this is the will of God, and you will not argue with me anymore. This will become normal to you so get used to it! Guys please remember that the enemy is always watching us. He sees us. Let’s look like we are not intimidated by the symptoms or what we might be praying for ok. Let’s make sure we mean business.
I have had people that I prayed for stand there and look at me like I’m crazy, and according to the carnal mind, I am. I mean I’m commanding the body to do something it’s not used to hearing, like telling it what to do, (sickness I mean) like bones and ribs and pinched nerves and what not. So I’m standing there and I’m commanding this migraine that this lady has had for 15 years.
She looks at me and every time I stop she keeps saying. Well the doctor says I will have this for the rest of my life? The enemy is a liar! He has been telling her that for 15 years and she believes it.
And now she is telling me, what she has accepted as fact. Causing a battle of tug of war inside of me because I am training my mind to not believe the lie and to believe the word of God but you have this constant battle between what God is saying and what the carnal mind is saying. I just TRUST God and what is in me. She kept telling me I was in a car wreck and my scalp was pulled off and the nerves in my head were ripped and that’s why it always hurts doctors can’t fix it. I just finally said let’s not focus on that anymore ok let’s focus on what God said OK.
I prayed for her 3 times and finally after I said It’s going to go right now in Jesus name! She started scratching her head and she was saying how it’s itching like crazy! My scalp has not had feeling in it in 15 years. I said It’s just the nerves firing again it will pass. Then after 1 minute of scratching she said.” It’s gone!” If I was going to heal this woman in the name of Jesus I had to believe it was possible. Guys this sounds easy but the hardest part of doing this, is the convincing yourself that Jesus was not lying to us it is true. You have to make healing your business. Luke 2:49 and he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business? I love that passage. They have to find us doing our Fathers business. We just have to make the word of God true in our lives. How do we do that you ask? Do not let your mind tell you what is real and what is not. That is the Holy spirits job, believe the word of God make that truth and everything else a lie. You have to start talking Kingdom minded. That means you have to have friends and people you hang around Kingdom minded. Surround yourself with strong men of God. Not everyone will agree with you, and that’s ok to. If everyone would have agreed with Jesus they wouldn’t have looked for every opportunity to stone him. Every time Jesus preached they wanted to kill him, every time we preach we get a pat on the back, why is that? Something to think about. Guys my blog is to build you up.
I don’t sugar coat how I feel or the things I go through, this is the stuff we need to be talking about. This shows you, the reader that I’m just as normal as you with real problems. Let’s work together and try and find the answers together as we walk this out as a whole, amen. To many times leaders we see are afraid to show their vulnerability. We need to be as real as possible. The Gospel isn’t always about having it all together; if that was the case we wouldn’t need a Savior. We do not have it all figured out, I know I don’t. I guess that’s why we all need each other.
So my point is this, we have to tell and convince our mind that everything it learned before Christ was a lie. That everything in this world is on a mission to convince you that the lie is the truth and the truth is a lie. The prince of this world is Satan the accuser. He will accuse you of not being good enough to heal the sick. Col 2;20 Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules: Guys hear me on this once we become a new creation we no longer have the carnal mind the word says we have the mind of Christ. Having the mind of Christ means we understand God’s plan in the world—to bring glory to Himself, restore creation to its original splendor, and provide salvation for sinners. It means we identify with Christ’s purpose “to seek and to save what was lost” (Luke 19:10). It means we share Jesus’ perspective of humility and obedience (Philippians 2:5-8), compassion (Matthew 9:36), and prayerful dependence on God (Luke 5:16).
WE must become what Jesus died for. This is the greatest gift we can offer the world, is to become what the Father always wanted us, and created us to be. To walk in the fullness of Christ Jesus. Before you can achieve it you have to believe it. If you want to see the things you have never seen before you have to be willing to do what you have never done before.

What I find myself doing is “forgetting” to ask for specifics. And then being glad I didn’t, and dealing with the rest as it comes up. If I knew all the stuff going in, it would be too much all at once….

Bless you Pete for your honesty. This openness is what helps us all grow into the life of Christ. Too many will keep their revelation knowledge to themselves. That is so sad. I love the way you freely and openly share the truth of the Word. Too many times we have learned to read over the very things that we need to focus on. You bring those out.
This last few weeks I have come to realize that I am sick because I accepted the doctors views and have been living in the lies of sickness. I am now coming against those lies and with soon be walking in total healing.

Pete I’m so glad you wrote this. I have seen glimmers and tidbits to this truth of mind renewal to Gods word in relation to the reality that is staring us in the face. Some times I thought I was going off the deep end and yet, I look at the word and it’s really off the deeper end. The times I have had success is when I moved out in faith believing knowing He was there to confirm His word. The times of failure have been noticeably apparent when I have much doubt. I prayed for a inmate with a short leg. His femur bone being 1-1/2 inches short. I went at it in front of 55 inmates putting myself and God on the spot believing it would happen and it did. The same guy also had a foot that was in a locked extended position….and doubts came in my mind and I had no faith for it to happen and did not. You would think after seeing his leg lengthen I would have faith for his foot…but I succumbed to the doubts and lies that I allowed to persuade my mind.
I have learned my beliefs rule and steer the train. My mind can seer my feelings and my feelings and steer my beliefs.

It’s good to know, for I can identify with what you are speaking about. I grew up and lived as an atheist (37 years) and everybody in my family said and thought I went crazy after telling everybody that I had an encounter with God, that I turned to Him.
Then I faced the ugly face of religion, but through people like you, I again face the truth, that the Word of God is true, despite what people in church tried to teach me. Each time I confronted them with John 14:12 they just said, what are you trying to say and despised me for being not in love.
I know the World lives in total lie, and we all grew up “discipled” by the enemy of God.
But thanks for Jesus! He is the one we ought and can and will follow!

WHAT IS I MY HEAD WHEN GOD USES ME.? DUDE! ALOT OF TIMES IT CATCHES ME BY TOTAL SURPRISE BECAUSE I NEVER KNOW WHEN HE IS GONNA DO SOMETHING REAL RADICAL LIKE RAISE THE DEAD .(HAPPENED ONCE) OR COME TO PIC SOMEONE UP AND TAKE THEM HOME .(HAPPENED 4 TIMES)((SAW THE WHOLE PROCESSION)) OR HEAL SOMEONE OF CANCER (HAPPENED 3 TIMES))) ONCE I SAW IT IN THE PERSON AND THEY HAD TOLD NO ONE AN I JUS WENT UP AN LAID HANDS ON EM)) AN ANOTHER TIME I WAS VISITING IN THIS CHURCH AND I GOT ZAPPED AND APPROPRIATLY STARTED PROPHESYING THAT HEALING WAS IN THE HOUSE WALKED UP TO SOME DUDE I DIDNT KNOW AND TOLD HIM YOU JUST GOT HEALED….AN HE DID HE HAD CANCER FROM HEAD TO TOE AND JUST WALKED IN OFF THE STREET.THE WORST IS WHEN PEOPLE DON’T BELIEVE THAT THEIR SICKNESS(IN SOME CASES) WAS A RESULT OF SIN AND GOD WANTS TO APPREHEND THEM AND FOR THEM TO REPENT….WHEN YOU ARE TUNED IN AND YOU WALK THROUGH PEOPLE YOU SEE AND FEEL EVERYTHING AND AS MUCH AS IT IS COOL YA SEE WHAT YOU DONT WANTO AND PEOPLE GO AWAY THE SAME BECAUSE THEY DIS GOD DOWN.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 5 “Do not be afraid just BELIEVE”~ He knew what people needed to hear in order to overcome the soul realm,walking by the Spirit of God and living as children of God brings us to a place where we overcome ourselves and trust only in Him and his promises~Thank you Jesus!

Thanks for blogging this piece it was very helpful. The truth is everything Jesus taught we already have. We do not live according to the flesh because we are saved by grace and when we get saved it we still live according to our flesh we are no longer under grace but under the law. I prefer to live under grace, forgiven past, present and future. Thank you Jesus, Your Love is more Amazing every day! Amen!
